Privacy Policy

Loosely is built to keep your ideas yours. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect.

What stays on your device

Your idea transcripts and finished plans are stored only on your device (in the app's local database). Voice is transcribed to text on your device using Apple's Speech framework. We do not receive or store your audio.

AI processing — what is shared, and with whom

Loosely's core feature works by sending the text of your idea and your spoken answers to a third-party AI service to generate the assistant's clarifying questions and your finished plan. We ask for your explicit permission in the app, on first run, before any of this data is sent.

What is sent: only the text of the current conversation (your idea and your answers). Your audio is never sent — voice is transcribed to text on your device by Apple's Speech framework.
Who it is sent to: Anthropic, PBC, the provider of the Claude AI model, via our own server (which holds the API key; the app never contacts Anthropic directly).
How it is used: solely to produce the assistant's next question and your plan for that session. The text is processed transiently and is not stored on our servers.
Protection by the third party: Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models, and provides confidentiality and security protections consistent with this policy. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.

Other data sent to our servers, and why

An account identifier. The app creates an anonymous account automatically so the service can work and so we can apply the free-usage limit. No sign-in is required.
Your email address — only if you choose Sign in with Apple. This is optional and only enables future cloud backup and the optional Notion integration.
Diagnostics. Standard crash and performance data to keep the app reliable.

Notion (optional, off by default)

If you connect Notion, your integration token is stored in your device's Keychain and sent over an encrypted connection to our server only to write finished plans to the database you choose. We do not store your token or your Notion content on our servers. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not use your ideas to train models.

Your choices

Export all of your plans at any time (Settings → Export). Delete everything on your device (Settings → Delete all ideas), or delete your account and its server-side footprint entirely (Settings → Delete account & all data).
